Apple vừa phát hành bản cập nhật iOS 14.5, chính thức hỗ trợ mạng 5G Viettel cho các sản phẩm iPhone 12 Series.
Sau thời gian dài chờ đợi, người dùng các dòng iPhone 12 gồm: iPhone 12 Pro Max, 12 Pro, 12 và 12 mini đã có thể sử dụng mạng 5G Viettel. Việc cần làm của người dùng là cập nhật lên phiên bản iOS 14.5 mới nhất của Apple.
Trước đó, dù iPhone 12 được đưa về Việt Nam từ cuối năm 2020 nhưng không thể sử dụng mạng 5G do Apple chưa hỗ trợ “mở mạng”. Theo thông tin từ một số bên, Apple chỉ mở mạng cho các nhà mạng đã hỗ trợ 5G thương mại để đảm bảo trải nghiệm tốt nhất cho người dùng thiết bị của họ. Với động thái mới nhất, có vẻ như mạng 5G của Viettel đã đáp ứng được tiêu chí của Apple để “Táo Khuyết” chấp nhận mở mạng.
iPhone 12 đã dùng được 5G tại Việt Nam
Với động thái mới từ Apple, nhiều khả năng số lượng người sử dụng mạng 5G tại Việt Nam sẽ tăng lên đáng kể.
Hiện tại ngoài iPhone 12 series, có đến hàng chục thiết bị di động khác hỗ trợ mạng 5G tại Việt Nam như dòng Note 20 Ultra, S21 Galaxy Z Fold 2 của Samsung, Find X2 và X2 Pro, Reno 5G của Oppo, các thiết bị của Xiaomi, Realme, Huawei và Nokia.
Theo thống kê của một nhà bán lẻ tại Việt Nam, lượng điện thoại 5G bán ra chiếm tỷ lệ 30% toàn hệ thống – con số được cho là đáng kinh ngạc, cho thấy điện thoại 5G đang phổ cập rất nhanh tại Việt Nam. Trong dự đoán của hãng nghiên cứu thị trường, điện thoại 5G sẽ chiếm khoảng 35% doanh số smartphone toàn cầu trong năm 2021.
Về phía nhà mạng Viettel, đơn vị này cho biết đã phủ sóng mạng 5G tại 6 tỉnh/thành phố tại Việt Nam gồm Hà Nội, TP.HCM, Thủ Đức, Bình Phước, Bắc Giang, Bắc Ninh. Nhà mạng này cũng vừa khai trương mạng 5G tại Thừa Thiên Huế, trở thành nhà mạng đầu tiên cung cấp 5G ở khu vực miền Trung. Viettel dự kiến mở rộng số tỉnh có sóng 5G lên 15 tỉnh/thành phố. Trong thời gian thử nghiệm, người dùng được miễn phí data 5G với dung lượng không giới hạn. Hiện đây là nhà mạng đi đầu trong việc thương mại hóa mạng 5G tại Việt Nam.
